As 2007 comes to a close, Black Pig would like to thank all our friends and fans for an amazing year. We played 25 shows this year throughout the Tri-State area, made lots of new friends and shocked many an unsuspecting audience.

Our last show took place just days ago at Desmonds Tavern in NYC, and we can say without hesitation that it was the most fun we've had all year. Sal from Brooklyn Original hosted the night which featured performances by The Mnemonic Devices, Tommy Lombardozzi and Next Tribe. Black Pig also performed a special one-off performance along side members of the prominent Peruvian rock band Los Fuckin Sombreros (Francois and Pipe!). This supergroup was labeled Los Fuckin Puercos, and we performed a number of original Sombreros songs as well as songs by The Faces, John Lennon and Kiss.

All in all it was a fitting ending to an amazing year. Thanks to all who came out.

Black Pig will take a short winter hiatus to concentrate on recording and to gear up for another year.

Have a good new year friends... see you next year.

Pig Out!

All hail the dark swine powers that be! On to the news...

Black Pig's recent live set at Brooklyn's Wicked Monk was reviewed by Brooklyn Original, a blog page dedicated to all things born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. Click here to check out the review and the website!

Songs recorded from that show will be made available sometime this winter. Check back for more info.

Conversely, a few months ago we mentioned a DVD we'd be releasing this Fall. Well, we've been so busy playing shows and writing new music that we've had to reprioritize our plans. We do eventually hope to release the DVD sometime next year. We'll keep you posted when we do.

Continuing on, Black Pig will be closing the year out with gigs at Williamsburg's Trash Bar, a first appearance at New Jersey's legendary Stone Pony, and a possilbe holiday show at The Wicked Monk. Check our shows page for our complete live calendar.

That's about it for now friends. We'll leave you with these words of wisdom spoken by a trusted mentor:

"I'm looking forward to staying out of prison." - F.C.

Hello true believers, Black Pig is alive and well and gearing up for a full schedule of fall shows.

We are finishing up the summer with our first show at Snitch, one of New York's best rock clubs. October and November we'll find us playing at notable New York venues Don Hill's, Bar Matchless and The R Bar with such local acts as Next Tribe, The Motherjumpers and The Mnemonic Devices. Check our shows page for more info.

In other news, Black Pig will be recording a LIVE show at Brooklyn's Wicked Monk. The show will be recorded by Terminal One and is slated for future release by the band. The Wicked Monk has been homebase for us over the past few years, so we wanted to do something special there. This show will take place on Sunday, October 14th. Check our shows page for more info.

In other news, the band was recently photographed by our good friend Izzy from Isaphoto.com. Check out a small sampling of her work on our pics page. Check out her official website here.

Since our last news post we've had the pleasure of polluting such fine music venues as Siberia in NYC, The Brighton Bar in New Jersey and Hank's Saloon in Brooklyn. Our next show will take place at Bay Ridge's own Wicked Monk, and we follow that up with a gig at The Mean Fiddler near Times Square in New York. Check our shows page for all upcoming show info.

The most important show we have coming up will take place on May 3, 2007 at Don Hill's in New York's West Village. This will be a major industry showcase featuring us in full electric rock mode alongside our friends The Motherjumpers and Next Tribe, as well as Kierstin Gray and Fat Free. Mark your calendars now! This will be a show not to be missed!

You say you're hankerin' for a sizzlin' slab o' Black Pig news? Well here's a meaty slice...

First and foremost, everyone should know that we are looking for a drummer. After a year of faithful service, the venerable John "Keys" Clemente had to retire his drumsticks to continue building his growing studio and live sound business. We'd like to thank John for a job well done and for being a special part of the Black Pig family. Johnny Keys!!!

If you are interested in playing drums for Black Pig, or know someone who might be, please e-mail us at contact@blackpigmusic.com. Thanks.

In the meantime, while we look for a drummer, we are keeping busy by doing acoustic shows. Trust us when we say that Black Pig unplugged is a gentler, more subdued animal... or is it? Come to any of our upcoming shows to find out.

Our first public acoustic performance happens on December 30th in Ardmore , Pennsylvania. We are sharing a stage with Kiersten Gray and Tommy Lombardozzi of The Motherjumpers. Our next show will be mid-January at Brooklyn's own Lucky 13 Saloon. We then hit Bar 4 on January 31st and finally, The Wicked Monk in Bayridge for a President's weekend bash. Check our shows page for more details.

To round out the news, we are pleased to announce that Germany's Radio Marabu has welcomed Black Pig to their music rotation. Hi, Germany, we're Black Pig!

Well, that about wraps up this news brief. Enjoy the new year friends, and thanks for your undying devotion to BLACK PIG!

The other show will take place on December 30th at the Milkboy Coffehouse near Philadelphia. Black Pig will be performing thieir first ever acoustic show this night! Kiersten Gray will be joining us once again as well as Tommy Lombardozzi from the Motherjumpers in a solo acoustic performance.

The latest Black Pig news is here folks. Keep Reading!

Happy Anniversary to us! 2 years ago on this date, Black Pig wrote their first song, "Fictitious Tree", the first of 11 songs that would eventually comprise their first album. That momentous day spawned all that you now see before you. Sociologists are currently debating the positive merits of this event. We'll keep you posted with the results.

With that formality out of the way, let's look to the future...

Black Pig has 2 special shows coming up in December. One will be an acoustic extravaganza, unlike anything Black Pig has done before, and the other will be a classic Christmas show. More facts on these shows will be made available as details come in. Stay tuned!

In other news, Black Pig has now been added to Tinternet Radio's playlist. Tinternet Radio is a British based Internet Radio station that offers a unique alternative mix of music and comedy. Click HERE to check it out!

For those who still have not picked up a copy of Black Pig's debut album "It Is What It Is", the album is now available for purchase on Amazon.com, iTunes and CD Baby. Individual tracks can also be purchased through direct download HERE.

We'd like to direct everyone to a great Myspace page created by some great friends of ours. NYC Highlights is a New York based promotions company that focuses on broadcasting exclusive video performances by the latest up and coming artists in New York's underground scene. Check it HERE! (P.S. Look for Black Pig performing "Old and Tired" on that page... it's quite a performance!)

And, last but not least, Joe's interview on The MAACP Radio Show will finally be aired next week. Check back here for links to the audio file.

OK, that's all for now friends. Enjoy yourselves.

Interested in what's new with Black Pig?... then keep reading....

Joe was interviewed recently on MAACP Radio by co-host Michael Anthony. It was the kind of interview you might expect from two obviously like-minded degenerates. All we'll say is that the word "anus" came up at least 5 times. No joke. The show will air in a couple of weeks. We'll have a link to it here shortly thereafter.

Black Pig was also featured on internet radio show The Fevered Brain of RadioMike. To quote host Mike Perazzetti..."(Black pig is) so prolific, so eclectic that we have no way of telling you what kind of music this is... it's completely out of left field".

Thanks to RadioMike for his support. This radioshow plays quite an eclectic mix of music, from atmospheric soundtracks to classical to indie-rock. Check out the show we were played on here.

There's lots to go over in the world of Black Pig, let's not waste another minute.

Black Pig was a featured artist this week on MAACP Radio. Hosted by Michael Anthony and Chris Paulus, this irreverent internet talk show will soon be making it's way onto terrestrial radio. Click here to hear!

Our last show at Don Hill's went over gangbusters. Video from the show is up on YouTube.com. Click here to view.

In early February, we commissioned our good friend Anthony Picone to do a series of drawings to commemorate the release of our first album "It Is What It Is." His work was displayed on March 5th at our first show at Southpaw. Each drawing depicts imagery from each of the 11 songs on the album. To view them click this link to his blog/gallery page. To contact Mr. Picone, please e-mail him at stillasleep1313@yahoo.com

And, last but not least, our next show will take place on Friday, August 18, at The Underscore in New York City. This is sure to be an amazing night of pigging. Be there or suffer the consequences.
